In the past 40 years Rycobel has built up experience and knowledge in many industrial sectors. Rycobel distributes, often exclusively in Europe, high quality equipment for improving production processes and quality control instruments. A team of technical experts and an efficient sales team assist our customers with advice and assistance.

Experience and knowledge

Rycobel’s activities are continually expanding. Originally, help was provided particularly in the textiles sector with controlling static electricity and testing colourfastness. Other industries had other needs and Rycobel expanded its activities. At the same time started a worldwide search for adequate equipment for optimising industrial processes. Rycobel also became specialised in quality control, test and laboratory equipment. Today Rycobel can offer its customers a gamut of activities and specialisations.

History

Rycobel nv grew from the one-man business Noël Ryssaert, which was founded in the early 50’s as a commercial enterprise, specialising in fittings for the textile industry. The company’s stock at the time consisted of leather chasers, stroke bars, drive belts, shuttles, cutter strings, paraffin, oil...

  • 1975: The original company Noël Ryssaert was split into the plc Ryssaert and Son and the plc Rycobel. Both companies specialised further as a commercial enterprise that not only sold goods, but also offered customers technical services, repair and maintenance options. The PLC Rycobel began to specialise more in the sale of industrial test equipment.
  • 1988: Rycobel nv, as we know it now, was set up and entirely took over the activities of the two former plc’s. The European distribution for the Thwing-Albert Instrument Company (USA) products is a fact.
  • 1991: The move to the new premises at the Nijverheidslaan in Deerlijk.
  • 1992: European distribution for Pulmac (USA) products.
  • 2002: Doubling of the warehouse space.
  • 2003: European distribution for Regmed (Brazil) products.
  • 2004: Cooperative agreement with Lansmont Corporation (USA).
  • 2005: Achieved ISO9001:2000 certification.
  • 2006: Cooperative agreement with Labthink (China) and the Belgian Packaging Institute. Setting up of the French sister company EqulnTech SARL.
  • 2007: Installation of the new office space on the first floor.
  • 2009: Awarded ISO9001:2008 certification
  • 2010: Takeover of activities of Atlas BV in the Netherlands and startup Rycobel BV

Rycobel supports non-profit association Cunina

Rycobel takes commitment in supporting people who are struggling.

Millions of children worldwide have no access to school. They can’t make use of their capacities. Poverty is one of the main reasons. School money isn’t the only obstacle but also money for school uniforms, books and transportation.

Rycobel is involved in an individual partnership of a schoolchild in Nepal. With this contribution , Rycobel gives children who would never get a chance access to primary education. www.cunina.org
