Corona pretreatments

Corona pretreatments have been used for decades to achieve a reliable adhesion of printing inks, varnishes, glues and even coatings. In particular strip materials such as plastic film, aluminium foil, paper and non-wovens are functionalised in this way.

There are inventive solutions available for thicker materials and 3-dimensional products. An extensive range of diverse configurations allows the best solution to be found every time.

Depending on the nature of the material to be treated, different types of electrodes and basic rollers can be selected. Ceramic, metal and quartz electrodes form part of the standard range.

Plasma pretreatments

Atmospheric plasma has been used since the mid-90’s as the most significant innovation within the world of adhesion problems. Thanks to a very intensive and homogeneous treatment, plastics, metals, glass and ceramic surfaces can be treated in a very efficient way, resulting in durable adhesion. Atmospheric plasma can be used not only for cleaning and activating, it is also an option for the application of functional coatings.

Web cleaning

The cleaning unit removes loose particles such as dust, paper fibres etc. from the surface of the media to be cleaned. Loose particles are often attracted from the immediate surroundings by the electrostatically charged material and then adhere to the surface until there is a conductive discharge.
