The Taber specimen table equipped with the Taber Abraser has been designed to work with most materials. This 108mm diameter table includes a clamp plate and nut to test rigid materials, and a specimen hold-down ring to be used for flexible materials. A rubber pad is provided to ensure a non-slip surface.
To expand the versatility of the Taber Abraser, interchangeable specimen tables are…

The Taber Wheel Refacer is recommended to refresh the contact surfaces of Abrasive wheels. It makes sure the abrasive wheels stay in a good shape and that they can be used for a longer period.

The Taber Falling Sand Abrasion Tester is a popular apparatus used to measure the resistance to abrasion of paint, lacquers and other organic coatings.

The Taber scratch kit includes both diamond tools along with a 7x measuring magnifier. The scratch kit allows you to make simple or multiple scratches on samples.
The optional threaded spherical tips are available in both 1mm or 7mm diameter.
The threaded post allows this tip to be screwed directly to the bottom of the Linear Abraser spline…

The radian rub tester determines the abrasion resistance of printed surfaces. It will also asses the comparative transfer between surfaces.

The ink rub tester tests the abrasion resistance of different materials - printed, coated, wet or dry, on paper, cardboard or foil.Abrasion resistance is a desirable and sometimes critical property of printed materials as damage can occur during shipment, storage, handling and end use.A material with a low abrasion resistance may suffer a significant decrease in product appearance and legibility of printed information. The new RAS-21…

The Taber® Scuffing Head Attachment Set is used with the Taber Abraser (Abrader) to simulate scuffing damage on automotive upholstery, leather and painted parts.

The Taber® Crockmeter is manually operated and provides a standard pressure and rubbing motion. Used for evaluating color transfer or rub tests.

The specimen is moved across a smooth low-friction platform at a constant rate. As the leading edge of the specimen projects from the platform, it bends under its own mass. The length of the overhang is measured when the specimen’s leading edge contacts the indicator. From this measured length, the bending length and flexural rigidity are calculated.

Transparent materials are mounted in a tray, covered by an abrasive media and reciprocated back-and-forth. The oscillating motion causes the abrasive media to wear and scratch the specimen surface which is used to determine resistance to abrasion.

A free-floating head follows the contours of test specimens, permitting the testing of flat or contoured products. With adjustable stroke length, speed, and load, the Heavy Duty Linear Abraser allows you to customize test parameters to your exact needs.

Textile webbing is often used for safety belts, restraint harnesses, helmet straps, and cargo tie-downs. Over time, adjustment hardware or common use may cause abrasion damage and jeopardize the integrity of the webbing material. The rubbing action simulates field damage in a controlled laboratory setting.

Taber® Reciprocating Abraser includes a sliding platform that moves in a horizontal, reciprocating motion under a weighted, stationary tool. Optional attachments permit abrasion, scratch, rub and other types of testing.

Positioned over a Taber rotary abraser, this freestanding unit deposits aluminium oxide grit particles uniformly and continuously at a specified rate. After passing under the leather wheels, used grit and any abraded material is removed by the Abraser vacuum system.

The multi-media abraser provides a flexible tester for measuring the abrasivity of virtually all fluids and powders used in today’s manufacturing processes. Applications include paints, pigments, adhesives, sealants, epoxies, pastes, detergents and industrial additives.

Taber® abrading wheels are available in a range of abrasiveness to suit a wide variety of testing applications.Wool felt or plain rubber wheels test delicate materials or the abrasiveness of materials such as dental powders.Wheels containing abrasive particles in a resilient matrix of rubber or a hard matrix of vitrified clay are suitable for stiffer materials.

The Taber® Shear/Scratch Tester is a unique instrument used to determine material resistance or susceptibility to shear. The scale beam is pivoted on precision ball bearings which slide over a pivotal shaft projecting from an adjustable gage block. This allows the scale beam to maintain a level position in respect to the specimen and turntable. and scratch.

The Taber® Linear Abraser tests contoured or flat products by using a free-floating head to follow the contours of the sample. Interchangeable attachments enable the user to evaluate resistance to abrasion, scratch, rub, color transfer (crocking), and other physical properties.

The Taber® Abraser (Abrader) is used to conduct accelerated abrasion and wear resistance tests on flat specimens. Samples are mounted on a rotating turntable, and subjected to the wearing action of two abrasive wheels applied at a specific pressure.
Since its inception, the abraser has been used for quality & process control, research & development and material evaluation. Used to…
